Lionel Messi could be able to leave Barcelona on a free transfer due to a clause in his new contract, according to reports.
The Argentina international signed a new deal with the La Liga leaders in November to keep him tied to the club until June 2021. Messi’s new £500,000-a-week contract also includes a release clause of €700 million (£623m).
